Our Progress

The Cameron Steinberg Foundation exists to create measurable impact in pediatric heart care. This page outlines the initiatives we’ve funded and the partnerships we’ve built to support patients, families, and research. Our goal is simple: turn remembrance into action and generosity into progress.

N-MACH3

N-MACH3 (Nationwide Michigan Anatomic Congenital Heart in 3D) is an immersive virtual reality training program developed in collaboration with experts at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital and Nationwide Children’s Hospital. This groundbreaking initiative allows physicians, trainees, and families to step inside complex congenital heart defects in 3D, improving understanding, surgical preparation, and education.

Through the Cameron Steinberg Foundation, we are proud to help advance this innovative technology in honor of Cami and in support of children born with congenital heart disease.

CATSmart

In 2022, we helped Nationwide Children’s Hospital acquire a CATSmart cell saver system, now used in hundreds of open-heart, orthopedic, and liver transplant surgeries each year to reduce complications from blood transfusions.

Without a CATSmart, patients would be exposed to additional blood transfusions, which can increase the risk for reactions or infection.

Lovies & Books

IMG_3295.HEIC

Cami always found comfort in her lovies during her hospital stay. In her honor, we partnered with Angel Dear to provide bulk shipments of comforting stuffed animals directly to the Pediatric Cardiothoracic Unit. These small gifts offer warmth, security, and something soft to hold during some of the hardest moments.

We worked with the author of Zip-Line, a children’s book written for kids recovering from open-heart surgery, to donate copies to the hospital’s giving library. The story celebrates the “zipper” scar and helps young heart patients feel proud of their strength. Each book includes a special message honoring Cami’s legacy.

Ronald McDonald House

During Cami’s care, our family stayed at the Ronald McDonald House for two months. In gratitude for the comfort and community they provided, we proudly support their mission so other families can focus on what matters most: being close to their child.
